I really do not know what to name this dish :) I put together all my favorite veggies and tofu and give it a quick stir fry and gosh it was tasty and I get to savor all my favorites at one go....haha I am not called a glutton for nothing :p This is a simple dish that everyone will love except my WB :p he is a meat eater but I do want to wean him off meat and to eat more veggies and simple dishes that is good for health and thank God , he is slowly adapting to be a vegetarian :p
Below are the ingredients put together to make this lovely healthy dish. Firm tofu, snow white mushrooms, china leeks, carrots, and water chestnuts and a few slices of ginger and some chopped garlic are all that is needed for this dish. Water chestnut must not be overcooked or it will not be crunchy. In fact all the ingredients cook fast so a quick stir fry will do. A thickening sauce consisting of 1.5 tbsp of oyster sauce, a dash of white pepper powder, a tbsp of cooking wine , 1/4 cup of water , and a tsp of potato starch ( corn flour ) to the stir fry did wonders to the dish. This dish took less than 20 minutes to cook :)
The preparation is easy ... cut the china leeks , water chestnuts, carrots and tofu into slices except the white mushrooms. A few slices of ginger and some chopped garlics sauteed for extra flavor and the thickening sauce makes a smooth clear gravy . A truly delicious stir fry veggie dish ...I love it ! slurp slurp slurping away and it was even more welcoming after a hard day at work :)
Enjoy and have a great day....... :)

This looks anmazing! Thanks for the water chestunt tip on not overcooking it. I like a little crunch in my stir-fry. I am impressed you could tell us all what went in to this, I can never remember when asked on my dinners that I throw together.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter loves mushrooms... Looks like something from those little Chinese restaurants in the shopping malls.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad WB is cutting down the meat. I'm trying the same thing to my kids as well. They prefer salad..non cooked vegetables! I like this kind of stir fried too. I can finish them all without the rice. Have a great day ahead.
