After the disastrous adventure in trying to cook my own fried oyster / 'or chien' at home, I decided not to retry it until I get a good recipe for it. Since the raw oysters were quite large this time, I decided to deep-fry them with panko instead, like those served in Japanese restaurant. In japanese , fried oysters are called kaki furai...which are normally served as appetizer. It was so good that Jo and myself finished the whole plate of deep fried oyster as Daddy is not a fan of oysters to our delight - less man more share :p :p . It was crunchy on the outside and sweet and succulent on the inside with the unmistakable scent of the sea . Oishii !!!
Look how big the raw shucked oysters are and how fresh they are ... I finally found this shop that sells fresh seafood and most important it is located near my housing estate...I can get raw and fresh shucked oysters anytime I want now....anytime when the crave comes , I know where to get them. For Ipoh people, you can get them from this shop called - Perniagaan San Mao , 9, Laluan Ipoh Permai, Taman Ipoh Permai, Ipoh - business hours - 8am- 1pm, 4pm -6.30pm Tel : 019 -5132072
the raw shucked oysters are very fresh and large too..
.love it ! it was so fresh that
you can smell the scent of the sea.....
I can't wait to devour them as I deep fried them...
I think I devoured a few before they were served :p
the Chef must do the taste test first before serving :)
It was crunchy on the outside and sweet and succulent on the inside
with the unmistakeable scent of the sea ...Oishii !!!
I will definitely make this again when Josh comes home for Xmas :)
see how succulent these oysters were
and the crunchy panko crust enveloping such sweetness
mmmm....it is finger lickin' good
