Pan Seared Salmon With Mango Salsa

It is pan seared Salmon again ! Mmmmm this is heavenly , a simple and easy preparation yet it taste heavenly , it satiates my palate :)  I wish I can have salmon everyday  for my dinner  :p  I will not order salmon from the restaurant menu anymore when home cooked ones are so much thicker , cheaper and tastier . Those salmon served at my hometown restaurant comes in thin slices , I can't really get to taste the salmon-y flavor..and  over cooked.  I don't mind paying more if it comes out thick like those shown above :) I enjoy a thick slab of salmon steak and I can never resist one when I see a thick slab of salmon steak. You may call me a salmon woman ...seriously salmon is good and I will never stinge on it :p  The wonderful taste of this fish still haunts me and you can imagine what it is doing to my saliva glands while writing this post  :p

I prepared a mango salsa to go with it....mmmmmm  darn yummy ! A perfect match for the salmon !

This mango salsa recipe is from Angie's blog - Sea salt with food . After all the virtual feasting on the food on her blog,  I picked up this mango salsa from her recent ' Coriander and Lime-Crusted Tilapia fish ' and it was a perfect match for my pan seared salmon steak . Thank you so much Angie,  for this simple and refreshing salsa :)

I will let my picture tells how tasty and delicious my dinner was :) oh by the way, I pan seared chicken fillets for wild boar , gave him a small bowl of rice and some mango salsa to go with it . He is happy and I am happier ,  for I have the whole salmon steak to myself...and  I  s l u rpped  off the last morsels with thanksgiving in my heart  LOL!  I like my salmon not over cooked so that I can taste the natural salt flavor of the salmon  :))

seasoned it with ground black pepper
and a pinch of sea salt..pan seared it
on a grill pan with olive oil for
3 or 4 minutes on each side for a not
over cooked salmon..if you want it well done
then 6 minutes on each sides will do :)

the refreshing mango salsa is a perfect match
for this salmon...s l u r p slurp slurp

I love this piece of deliciousness......
I don't mind having this everyday if my pocket is full :p

  4. Elin, I am with you with regards to ordering salmon in many of the restaurant in Malaysia. I prefer my salmon raw or like yours, just lightly seared. Yummy! Btw, thanks for the link :-)

  5. I love salmon as well. Very happy to see that you also enjoy it cooked correctly and not cooked to salmon jerky. I'm lucky, here in Washington state we have the best salmon available - King, Sockeye, Coho - mmmmmmm. Love the mango salsa paired with this dish.

  6. Drool! Drool! My daughter would love this! She eats salmon very often in NZ, must be quite cheap there. Here, it costs a bomb. Maybe just for special dinners...

  14. I too hate to buy salmon in restaurants as you (very rarely) get the kind of size and taste you want! Your salmon looks like something I would order were it for sale in a restaurnat, I would eat it!
